Main Street USA

Main Street USA (2003) took the pulse of our country on the second anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center when it traveled around America touring twelve main streets from cities in Tennessee and Arkansas to Mississippi to Illinois. Through Town Meetings, Main Street USA showed tapes DCTV recorded at Ground Zero, in Afghanistan and Iraq. The tour showed the power and potential of technology harnessed for public service and public dialogue.

Many of our country’s iconic locales were visited, producing personal profiles of characters encountered along the way and illuminating the diversity of opinion in America today. Main Street USA explored the ideas and cultures of small towns and big cities. It was electric, eclectic and energetic television. Through Main Street USA, the CyberCar brought the world to Main Street America and enabled DCTV to bring Main Street America to the world.
