Insurrectionism and the 2nd Amendment | Washington D.C.

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence is a terrific resource for anyone who is new to the issue of gun violence in our country, or who would like to learn more about why the United States struggles with this issue more than any other high income nation. In their organizational description, they describe themselves as seeking to "secure freedom from gun violence."

The crux of the pro-gun argument is based on terms of "freedom", yet people on both sides of the gun are enslaved by it. Communities where gun violence is so common that children can't go to school without fearing for their lives, as well as those gun-toting activists who obsessively, single-mindedly see the gun alone as the answer to our country's problems. Both of these communities are slaves to the gun.

Josh Horwitz, CSGV's Executive Director, often discusses the insurrectionist movement coming out of the gun debate, and today's blog in Huffington Post is a relevant piece of writing about our recent Supreme Court decision.
