Our Condolences to Murry Bergtraum High School |

We at DCTV and Beyond Bullets would like to offer our condolences to the students and faculty of Murry Bergtraum High School after the tragic shooting of Tayshana Murphy this past weekend. We have worked with Murry Bergtraum High School since 2004. In that time we've come to know just how remarkable the school is, and we are deeply saddened by the death of this shining star.

We have spoken with the students at Murry Bergtraum about gun violence in the past, and recently helped them create their own anti–gun violence PSA entitled, "Bullets Have No Names". The truth in this title has played out now in real life, and it is simply heartbreaking.

Hopefully -- eventually -- this tragedy can become a call to action. We hope the classmates and teachers of Tayshana will carry her focus and determination with them in order to bring good into the world. Her legacy should not be tarnished by the tragic way she died, nor should anyone seek revenge for this unfortunate act. Keep her memory alive by making your community a brighter, better place whenever you can.
