Silence The Violence Day! | Bronx, NY

July 24th, 2010 is The National Day of Action to Silence The Violence. Our partner and the subject of one of our videos, the great violence prevention youth organization United Playaz of Banana Kelly High School, has teamed up with Urban Peace Movement and 106 KMEL to create a truly National event! The Bronx Chapter of United Playaz, founded by the wonderful Amelia Frank, is organizing an event in the South Bronx. Please join Amelia and the great young members of United Playaz for Silence The Violence day.

Saturday, July 24th
10am – 1pm
Corner of Southern Blvd. & Hunts Point (South Bronx)

If you can’t make it, there are several other ways you can help Silence the Violence on National Day of Action:

1) Resolve an ongoing conflict in your own life.

2) Host a Block Party, a BBQ, or a Mixer in your Neighborhood.

3) Mentor or Employ a Young Person From the Community.

4) Donate your time or make a monetary contribution to a community-based organization working for peace in your community.

5) Post a “Silence The Violence” sign in your window.

It takes the hood to save the hood!
