Detroit, MI

Detroit is always in the news these days, held up as a symbol of our economic collapse. But Detroit is alive with new ideas and experimentation, with dedicated people building things from the ground up (quite literally, there is an amazing urban farm movement springing up there.) Poverty is widespread and gun violence is pervasive, but that's certainly not all the news from Detroit. We want to raise awareness of gun violence issues in Detroit, but also to profile those people making a difference in the city.
